Carol of the Bells

Hark! how the bells
Sweet silver bells
All seem to say,
"Throw cares away."
Christmas is here
Bringing good cheer
To young and old
Meek and the bold

Ding, dong, ding, dong
That is their song
With joyful ring
All caroling
One seems to hear
Words of good cheer
From ev'rywhere
Filling the air

Oh how they pound,
Raising the sound,
O'er hill and dale,
Telling their tale,
Gaily they ring
While people sing
Songs of good cheer
Christmas is here
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas
Merry, merry, merry, merry Christmas

On, on they send
On without end
Their joyful tone
To ev'ry home

Ding, dong, ding, dong.

This version of Carol of the Bells is my favorite.  It's from Mannheim Steamroller, and even though its mostly instrumental I posted the lyrics to the whole song.  It was quite fun to get to sing Carol of the Bells as part of a community choir last week, even though the alto part is pretty simple.  This is another Christmas song that gets me excited about the season, like Avalon's Joy. It's lively and spirited and fast paced, and joyful, like the music the bells ring out during this season.

Oh, and just as a passing, unrelated thought,  it finally snowed just a wee bit here in Lodi, Ohio!  Hooray.
